My brother has been trying to drag us to this archery place in the city, but things kept working against his favor until today. Real talk: I don't think any of us who were there today has actually read The Hunger Games... not that reading the books could have helped me get better at shooting arrows.
2016 is ending in a few days. It's been one hell of a year. I think it flew by too fast and yet its exit can't get any slower. As much as I want it to end, I'm also afraid of what lies ahead in the future. Anyway, despite my mixed feelings about this year, not everything is terrible. For example, Morning Light opened a branch that's easily accessible for me and my friends, and we were pleasantly surprised to find something else in their new place!
"The more the merrier" is not a philosophy I subscribe to. Being around too many people for an extended period of time is exhausting, even if we share similar interests. But like in a lot of things, there are exceptions! Despite not getting any art done and coming home tired, I didn't regret going out yesterday because I spent the evening playing at a board game cafe with the family.
There's a board game cafe that my brother frequents. I cannot because it's far away, I don't drive, and it's not like I have a ton of friends who are ready and able to go any time.
Please forgive the lack of proper pictures this time around. Someday I'll be brave enough to actually take out my phone (or bring my DSLR around when I'm commuting?) and take lots of pictures in the shops I go to. I feel like I used up all my courage when I asked to take a few pictures in Stickerrific forever ago, so I don't have much to show for on this post.
I have absolutely no excuse for being two months late with posting these photos. It's not as if anything major has happened in my life lately that completely consumed my entire existence, aside from Nirvana in Fire. But that doesn't even count for much since I binged watch it in like a week and I could have managed editing photos and writing a short blog post in between crying over it, consuming all available fanfiction, and making art for it.
I know, I know. This only took forever. Better late than never, right? Things happened and I got roped into binge watching a 54-episode show, but that's no excuse, is it? Anyway, here it is now.
The weather was much nicer on our second day. We went to Snake Island and climbed up their viewing deck, which was a little dangerous. There was no proper stairs or anything so it was pretty easy to lose one's footing and fall into certain death. Okay, maybe not certain death. If you fall you'l probably just injure yourself badly. But the monkeys there are rabid. They actually warn you not to approach if you spot one.
Alright, I admit I have been putting off editing the photos for a while. But to be fair the past few weeks have been quite busy! I don't know how professional bloggers manage to blog on the road. Finding time to sit down and gather my thoughts at the end of the day is already a challenge even without the exhaustion that comes with daily activity.
Confession: I have yet to import the photos from my DSLR. To be fair, there were still a few technical things to take care of before I can do that. But you're right. I'm just being a lazy butt. There's a lot of photos, okay?! It's hard to get motivated when I'm not in my comfort zone.
The thing about Manila is that it's full of interesting places to eat at but I don't really feel safe enough to bring my camera around. So once again I find myself eating something interesting and only having my phone to take pictures with, which wasn't too bad. I feel a lot less conscious about taking photos with a small phone than with a DSLR that's bigger than my hands.
I rarely ever win in board games and stuff. I'm really terrible at them. But with the right game and the right company, I think they're pretty fun. Today I went to a board game cafe for the first time!
It's been a while since my last post, hasn't it? A few things have happened since, though nothing really to write about.
You might be thinking, "Hot springs?! In Philippine summer?! Are you insane?!!!!" Perhaps we were. It's always really hot in the Philippines, but summers are especially unforgiving. It was so hot out the day we went to Pampanga that I could feel my face melting.
Once again my brother brought us to a restaurant I've never heard of located at an area I didn't even know existed. In my defense, I'll probably never be familiar with Manila no matter how many times I come back here and I don't really have any interest. Can you blame me? Manila isn't exactly user friendly.
For a while now I've been stalking a few artists' accounts on Instagram, mostly for their art-related posts but also partly because I have been vicariously living through them. They meet up for art dates, have the opportunity to sell their own art, and have the luxury of being able to visit Stickerrific in a relatively regular basis. Compared to me who lives in a city with literally only one tiny art supply shop in a hard-to-reach area, they're basically living the dream.
I lied. This blog entry has no pictures of food. It does, however, have a paper thin connection to the cookies I baked yesterday so I thought it should sort of count! And it's been a while since I posted a Sunday Sweet; it's nice to type that out again.
I had to send my laptop for repair so it was away for a lot longer than I would have preferred. Unfortunately it can't play HD videos anymore but I think I can deal with that. Sometimes sacrifices must be made.
For a long time I've been avoiding adult colouring books, mostly because they're pricey and partly because I feel like I should be working on my own drawings instead of colouring someone else's. But who am I kidding? I've always been a sucker for pretty things so it was only a matter of time before I got myself one.
On the 31st we had lunch at Fatboy's in Avenue K. The taste is nothing mind blowing, but their menu is quite interesting. You can customize your burger from the buns to the patty to anything else you'd like on your burger. If you're too lazy for that, they also have a list of unique burgers to choose from like one with bananas. They have intriguing drinks on the menu as well, although as much as I love bacon, I would never want to drink it.
I'm so glad I found out how to queue posts on Blogger. I probably shouldn't be revealing blogging secrets or whatever, but, hey, who's even reading my blog, right?
The beginning of 2016 was generally uneventful for me, but I did take enough photos for at least three blog entries. The real question now is when will I get around to actually editing all of those photos.

As someone who gets too emotionally invested in fictional characters, I also enjoy doing the art thing and pretending to be good at writing amateur fiction. It is unfortunate that I don't get paid to write stuff on this blog but I sure wish I did.
