Today we ate at Lugang Café, a newly opened restaurant in SM City Davao Annex. Just in time for the Chinese New Year, I suppose. A little bit of Google searching told me that this is their 8th branch, following the seven branches located mostly in SM malls in Manila.

For lunch on my birthday this year, we ate at the Gudetama Café in Suntec City in Singapore! My mom and I went wearing matching Gudetama shirts from Uniqlo, which we bought before I found out that the cafe existed. I swear it wasn't part of the original plan!
Once when I was in high school, a relative from out of town asked me about nightlife in this city. I had no answer for them because partying has never been and never will be my thing. A college classmate even called me an alien for not having plans on a Friday night, as if wanting a chill evening at home was a completely out of this world concept.
(Listen, I'm not judging you for whatever you like to do on your weekends so mind your own business and leave me to enjoy my "alien" interests, you silly human.)
Before heading off to Singapore we got to eat lunch at 1953 Kusina Leticia, a place my brother has been interested in for a while now. It's hard not to be intrigued. The building's exterior is very eye catching with its glass face and minimalist sign in front. Looking in, you can see its simple yet classy interior as well. For a place that sounds "old", it definitely looks very new.
One night while wandering in the basement level of Uptown Place Mall, I looked up what restaurants were there so we could try it for dinner. That's how I discovered that the Hello Kitty Café was on the third floor. We ended up just eating at the dining area of Rustan's (their rotisserie chicken was pretty good, actually), and since the next day ended up being a very busy day, I didn't think of the cafe again.
Does it ever feel like nothing's really going on in your life but at the same time so many things are happening all at once? This happens a lot to me and the past week has been one of those times. This kind of feeling tends to weigh down on me so much that even if there's something worth writing about, I end up not posting at all.
Things that happened the past few days mostly had nothing to do with me, so it's not something for me to write about. Let's talk about other things. Like food!
Hello there! Suddenly it's February! The last few days of January was a blur because I was frantically trying to catch up with Nirvana in Fire 2, which started last December. I completely forgot about it over the holidays so I was more than thirty episodes behind by the time I started! How'd your January go?
This place is something we found completely by chance. It has an eye-catching exterior: a stylish building with colorful window art advertising their menu additions.
In my brother's quest to make ramen at home, he decided it would be a good idea to try out some ramen places in the city. The first one we went to wasn't exactly a "ramen place" because it only had two kinds of ramen on their menu, but it was a nice and cozy place. I imagine it would be a nice place to eat at with friends.
Years ago when a friend turned eighteen, we ate at Tong Yang Shabu-Shabu at Chimes. I remember that as a fairly pleasant experience so when we found out that there was a Tong Yang that would open in SM City Davao, we were looking forward to it.
Depending on whether the week starts on Monday or on Sunday for you, today still counts as the first week of January 2018. Unfortunately the only photos I have to offer for now are low quality ones from my phone and there's really no good excuse for that. But I figured in this case it's better to have some than none at all because I want to break out of the habit of making excuses not to update.
Hey! How did you guys spend your Christmas? Did you get any nice presents? In my country, it's a family holiday so it's always expected that you take time off from work to go home and spend it with everyone from your parents to your grandparents and your aunt's husband's cousin's sister's niece. As you can probably imagine, my energy reserve for socialization was quickly drained. Holidays are not for me.
Now that it's December, I should probably start working on that year end art summary collage. I think I haven't drawn much in the past few months! At least, not stuff that I'm proud enough to put in the art summary... Still, I've done it in the last two years so I shouldn't drop the ball now, right?
For a while now I have been meaning to change the layout of this blog, but I never got around to it because I couldn't find a template I was happy with. Although I'm still not entirely satisfied with this new one, I thought it was time for a new look anyway.
Look who's finally updating after a million years! I know, I broke my "New Year's Resolution" as soon as I said it and I honestly have no excuse. It's not like absolutely nothing has happened in the past four months since I last updated. A few sort of major things did, actually, but I got too lazy to edit the few photos I did take and thought maybe it wasn't really worth posting if I only had literally three photos...
A few weeks ago my brother wanted to sip mango shake by the beach while working on his computer so we used this excuse to check out Secdea Beach Resort which everyone and their mothers keep talking about. Unfortunately for us, it started raining just as we got there.
It was only two? three? weeks ago that I wrote about wanting to be more on time with my posting, but here I am once again with an overdue post. Better late than never?
2016 has finally gone and the consequences of our mistakes over the last year will finally be biting us in the rear soon! Hopefully you all had a good holiday because, at the risk of being called a pessimist, I have not much hope for humanity in general in 2017.
About

As someone who gets too emotionally invested in fictional characters, I also enjoy doing the art thing and pretending to be good at writing amateur fiction. It is unfortunate that I don't get paid to write stuff on this blog but I sure wish I did.
