Today's technology has trained us to expect things to be done RIGHT AWAY. It's too easy to take photos and post them seconds later--too easy that it's become the norm. Back then you had to take your photos to the shop and have them developed for you. These days my mom and our relatives expect the more than a hundred photos I took during our vacation to be posted as soon as we find a WiFi connection.

It's fair to assume that I'm only updating for the sake of updating. That's true, actually. I want to make up for my inactivity last year. I'm not sure what I'll write about when I run out of trips to talk about, but I want to try. At the very least, this year already has more entries than last year.
Since I don't really keep up with airline news or whatever, I don't know how I ended up finding out that there are direct flights from our city to Singapore. But this discovery somehow led to my mother deciding to spend her birthday to Singapore, so off we went with my aunt (who she shares a birthday with) and my cousin. As expected of a budget airline with limited flights, our plane was late and we arrived in our destination later than scheduled. When making itineraries, always take into consideration travel times and late planes!
Hey! How did you guys spend your Christmas? Did you get any nice presents? In my country, it's a family holiday so it's always expected that you take time off from work to go home and spend it with everyone from your parents to your grandparents and your aunt's husband's cousin's sister's niece. As you can probably imagine, my energy reserve for socialization was quickly drained. Holidays are not for me.
For a while now I have been meaning to change the layout of this blog, but I never got around to it because I couldn't find a template I was happy with. Although I'm still not entirely satisfied with this new one, I thought it was time for a new look anyway.
Look who's finally updating after a million years! I know, I broke my "New Year's Resolution" as soon as I said it and I honestly have no excuse. It's not like absolutely nothing has happened in the past four months since I last updated. A few sort of major things did, actually, but I got too lazy to edit the few photos I did take and thought maybe it wasn't really worth posting if I only had literally three photos...
2016 has finally gone and the consequences of our mistakes over the last year will finally be biting us in the rear soon! Hopefully you all had a good holiday because, at the risk of being called a pessimist, I have not much hope for humanity in general in 2017.
My brother has been trying to drag us to this archery place in the city, but things kept working against his favor until today. Real talk: I don't think any of us who were there today has actually read The Hunger Games... not that reading the books could have helped me get better at shooting arrows.
2016 is ending in a few days. It's been one hell of a year. I think it flew by too fast and yet its exit can't get any slower. As much as I want it to end, I'm also afraid of what lies ahead in the future. Anyway, despite my mixed feelings about this year, not everything is terrible. For example, Morning Light opened a branch that's easily accessible for me and my friends, and we were pleasantly surprised to find something else in their new place!
It's been a while since my last post, hasn't it? A few things have happened since, though nothing really to write about.
I lied. This blog entry has no pictures of food. It does, however, have a paper thin connection to the cookies I baked yesterday so I thought it should sort of count! And it's been a while since I posted a Sunday Sweet; it's nice to type that out again.
I had to send my laptop for repair so it was away for a lot longer than I would have preferred. Unfortunately it can't play HD videos anymore but I think I can deal with that. Sometimes sacrifices must be made.
On the 31st we had lunch at Fatboy's in Avenue K. The taste is nothing mind blowing, but their menu is quite interesting. You can customize your burger from the buns to the patty to anything else you'd like on your burger. If you're too lazy for that, they also have a list of unique burgers to choose from like one with bananas. They have intriguing drinks on the menu as well, although as much as I love bacon, I would never want to drink it.
I'm so glad I found out how to queue posts on Blogger. I probably shouldn't be revealing blogging secrets or whatever, but, hey, who's even reading my blog, right?
The beginning of 2016 was generally uneventful for me, but I did take enough photos for at least three blog entries. The real question now is when will I get around to actually editing all of those photos.
Unfortunately, it was raining on the day we came back to Fushimi Inari. We didn't let the weather defeat us, though! And this time we got to drag our mom with us. She was probably not too happy about all the walking we did.
Day 2 was easily the best day in our Tokyo stay. Of course, it's not without a few misses, but the good stuff outweighed the not-so-bad by tons!
We arrived in Tokyo in the afternoon. After checking into our hotel in Akihabara, we ate late lunch at a restaurant nearby.
My brothers and I went to Kyoto by ourselves with goals that were probably a little too big considering how we only had one day. The adults visited two places in Western Kyoto the day before, neither of which we got to visit ourselves, but we did get to see four places, so it wasn't a complete loss in my opinion!
About

As someone who gets too emotionally invested in fictional characters, I also enjoy doing the art thing and pretending to be good at writing amateur fiction. It is unfortunate that I don't get paid to write stuff on this blog but I sure wish I did.
