Weekenders: The Peak

The Peak sits atop Gaisano Mall of Davao and houses several dining places. The view from it is not what I would call breathtaking, but it's not like Davao's skyline has much to offer anyway. Though it's often far too hot out, the open space is a nice change of scenery.

During the day, it's a standard family friendly hangout. I've seen couples taking pictures, families with little children walking around, friends catching up over coffee, and students from nearby schools grabbing lunch. However, it's probably more lively at night when places on its top floor start their operations.

You know fun things happen when minors are not allowed entrance.

We just grabbed little snacks from Wings & Dips and Creamery Cafe, although I probably should have insisted to try more stuff from Wings & Dips. Maybe next time.

It tastes exactly what you would expect vegetables and a few strips of meat would taste like, which is to say: sadly unsatisfying for a meat person like me.

I don't know what I expected from this place. They said they're an ice cream shop and that's just exactly what they are.

It was rather underwhelming, even if I didn't really have any actual expectations. We probably should have tried something else from the menu. Wings & Dips offers other interesting things I'd like to try. Creamery Cafe, on the other hand, only has ice cream, waffles and spaghetti so there wasn't much choice over there. They do, however, have "pinoy sorbetes" flavours like avocado and halo-halo, if that's a thing you're interested in.
