It was September three years ago when I first visited the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. While there were still some flowers back then, I highly recommend visiting this place during spring. I know we here near the equator technically don't have a typical "spring" season, but there's this controlled environment or whatever science-y magic they pull off around here, so all the flowers are in bloom and there's a crapton of orchids in display! They're apparently award winning or something.

On Day 2 we headed back to Sentosa to celebrate my mom and my aunt's birthday at Universal Studios Singapore. The truth is I would like to spend my birthday in Tokyo Disney Sea, but I am in no position to make that happen and will never be, so the closest thing I could get is spending someone else's birthday here.

Since I don't really keep up with airline news or whatever, I don't know how I ended up finding out that there are direct flights from our city to Singapore. But this discovery somehow led to my mother deciding to spend her birthday to Singapore, so off we went with my aunt (who she shares a birthday with) and my cousin. As expected of a budget airline with limited flights, our plane was late and we arrived in our destination later than scheduled. When making itineraries, always take into consideration travel times and late planes!

Before heading off to Singapore we got to eat lunch at 1953 Kusina Leticia, a place my brother has been interested in for a while now. It's hard not to be intrigued. The building's exterior is very eye catching with its glass face and minimalist sign in front. Looking in, you can see its simple yet classy interior as well. For a place that sounds "old", it definitely looks very new.

Recently whenever we travel somewhere for a vacation, I am expected to plan the entire thing. It's not really too bad, especially if we're going to a place I'm generally interested in, but this also means if anything doesn't go according to plan, it's all going to be my fault too.

This week was relatively eventful for me, although considering my basis for comparison, I don't think it's really that much. Honestly we spent more time on the road than anything else.

One night while wandering in the basement level of Uptown Place Mall, I looked up what restaurants were there so we could try it for dinner. That's how I discovered that the Hello Kitty Café was on the third floor. We ended up just eating at the dining area of Rustan's (their rotisserie chicken was pretty good, actually), and since the next day ended up being a very busy day, I didn't think of the cafe again.

Does it ever feel like nothing's really going on in your life but at the same time so many things are happening all at once? This happens a lot to me and the past week has been one of those times. This kind of feeling tends to weigh down on me so much that even if there's something worth writing about, I end up not posting at all.

Things that happened the past few days mostly had nothing to do with me, so it's not something for me to write about. Let's talk about other things. Like food!

Hello there! Suddenly it's February! The last few days of January was a blur because I was frantically trying to catch up with Nirvana in Fire 2, which started last December. I completely forgot about it over the holidays so I was more than thirty episodes behind by the time I started! How'd your January go?

About

As someone who gets too emotionally invested in fictional characters, I also enjoy doing the art thing and pretending to be good at writing amateur fiction. It is unfortunate that I don't get paid to write stuff on this blog but I sure wish I did.
